The rebellion of the people has been happening since the fall. Adam and Chuah (Eve) were kicked out of the garden of Adan (Eden) for disobeying the commandment of Yahuah.
The children of Yashara’al who were taken out of Matsarayam (Egypt) continually disobeyed Yahuah’s commandments. They grumbled against Mashah (Moses) and A’Ahran (Aaron) by the bitter waters of Marah.
Then the people grumbled again against Mashah and A’Ahran in the wilderness of Sayan (Sin) because they were hungry and had no food. So Yahuah sent bread which they were told not to gather on the Shabat, 7th day of rest. But as you guessed, they didn’t obey.
“And Yahuah said to Mashah, ‘See, I am raining bread (lacham) from the shamayam for you. And the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, in order to try them, whether they walk in My Turah or not. And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.’ “
Shamut (Exodus) 16:4-5
Shortly after this, Mashah brings down the 1st set of 10 commandments and the people are worshipping a golden calf that they have in a feast to Yahuah. The Luyam (Levites) end up slaying the partakers and more commandments were added along with the priesthood. people are told when they go into the land they must drive out the Chuy (Hivite), the Kananay (Canaanite), the Chatay (Hittite), the Parazay (Perizzite), and the Yabusay (Jebusite). They were told to make no covenant with them, nor with their mighty ones, lest they cause them to sin and serve their gods. (Shamut 34) Then Mashah sent them to spy out the land
They wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until all the generation who had done evil in the eyes of Yahuah were consumed. Bamadabar (Numbers) 14; 32:12. So that evil generation dies, everyone gets circumcised and Yahusha (Joshua) starts to lead them into the promised land. They start taking down the Nephilim, but….. the children of Yashara’al trespasss in taking that which was under the ban (Yahusha 7:1) and make covenants with the people of the land (Yahusha 9 & 17; Shapathayam 1-2)
And Yahusha (Joshua) died and another generation rose up that did not KNOW Yahuah. They forsook Him and went after other mighty ones and provoked Him. So he sold them into the hands of plunderers and their enemies. Yahuah sent judges to save them, but when the judge died they went right back to serving other mighty ones. They turned away from the Way and Commands. Shapathayam (Judges) 2:11, 3:7, 3:12, 4:1, 6:1.
The children of Yashara’al begged for a king to reign over them like the pagan nations and it was warned what would happen if a malak (sovereign) was placed over them, but they did not listen.
Yahuah sent nabaya’a (prophet) after nabaya’a to tell the people to repent. But they did not listen.
Then malak after malak it was said, “he did evil in the sight of Yahuah, causing Yashara’al to sin.” This included serving other mighty ones. They lost the Turah, loving instructions, and did not obey His voice. Whenever the people were oppressed by an evil ruler they would repent until they were out of time.
When you’re not walking in Turah, the commandments of Yahuah, you’re still walking in the sin cycle. The barakah (blessings) and the curses are laid out in Dabarayam (Deuteronomy) 27-31. We will one day be out of time. The end of our life. We don’t know when that day will be. We don’t know when the end of this earth will be. It’s time to repent now and return to the covenant. We have the choice to become heirs to the promises given to Abarahm, handed down to Yatsachaq (Isaac), and Yaqub (Jacob).
When we repent, that means we turn away from sin and back to the covenant to walk as Yahusha our Mashayach (Messiah) walked. He did not continue to serve other gods in observing pagan holidays or traditions of men. He kept the 7th day Shabat. He kept the Scriptural Feasts. He kept the dietary instructions and ate clean food only.
For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the amat (truth), there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins, but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents. Anyone who has disregarded the Turah of Mashah dies without compassion on the witness of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment do you think shall he deserve who has trampeled the Son of Yahuah underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was set apart as common and insulted the Ruch of chasad (Spirit of favor)?”
Abarayam (Hebrews) 10:26-29
What is amat? The Truth? “Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Turah is truth.”
