The Feasts of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (Yahuah The Most High) are so beautiful when you start to partake in them. I talked about Pasach (Passover) in my previous post.
Why do we observe these feasts? Replacing or doing away with the Feasts makes us lose sight of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 plan and His calendar, leaving us blind (without knowledge or wisdom).
Here is a free printable I have made. Please credit back to the blog when sharing.
For Matsut (Unleavened Bread) the entire premise is around getting the physical leaven out of your home. We tend to bustle around and get our “Spring Cleaning” done. We go around cleaning out the pantry, fridge, and freezer. We also take this time to reevaluate what is good for our home and what we want to part with to donate or trash. It’s a great opportunity to decide to be more deliberate about our consumerism purchases.
For us, we like to go through clothes, books, games, music, dvds, even technology clutter on phones and computers. It makes us feel like at the beginning of the Scriptural New Year we have a fresh start. It sets the tone for springtime and nice weather. There’s freedom in having everything prepared so we can spend more time outdoors playing and gardening. Also we are the gatekeepers and watchmen for our home. We need to be careful what comes in the physical doors but also the gates to our heart. Everything we are surrounded by we consume and take in but so do our children. What they’re seeing, hearing, watching, listening to send subliminal messages. I’ve especially noticed this on YouTube commercials/ads.
The object lesson we’ve learned is that some leaven is easy to spot, it’s skin deep. We see that other leaven can be hidden and much harder to find in the shadows, deep in our heart. Sometimes we have to remove everything out of a space to get to the bare bones and deeply cleanse them from our heart. This journey to tashubah (repentance, a full turn to Abba) is humbling ourselves and a constant examination.
With that heavy message, I will leave you with some of our favorite matsah recipes to enjoy!
