We are commanded to honor our parents. “Respect your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged upon the soil which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 your Elohim is giving you.” Shamut (Exodus) 20. This is what I’ve found in my research in the last few years. I think it will shock most people that we can link this and all holidays back directly to sun god worship. We are commanded directly to not keep these traditions and learn the ways of the nations.
“Father’s day is closely related to pagan celebrations in honor of the sky fathers, summer solstice, and sun gods. During these pagan rituals, whenever goats were sacrificed, they tied ribbons around the goats’ necks. This was done to set them apart from the rest of the herd. Ever wondered where we got the tradition of gifting our fathers ties on this holiday?” – The Scribe’s Portionz
“June is known for celebrating Fathers Day. Even though this holiday gets less media coverage than Mother’s Day, both holidays are deceptive and do not honor Father nor Mother . The origin of both of these celebrations is based in paganism. Baal is the biblical king/father of Father’s Day and Astharoth (/Ashtoreth) is the queen/mother of Mother’s Day.” – The Chronicles of NCCI
“Mother’s Day always falls on the second Sun-day of May, and like so many other holidays rooted in pagan sun-worship including Father’s Day which always falls on the third Sun-day of June, usually fall on the day named in honor of their most powerful god — The Sun.” – Werdsmith
What has been is what shall be, what has been done is what shall be done, and there is no new matter under the sun.
Qahalat (Ecclesiastes) 1:9
Sky Father:
According to ancient cultures, sky fathers were (are) refer to sky gods who were looked upon as “fathers.” And I state this in plural because there are so many sky fathers, in fact, most cultures have one.
However, “sky father” is a translation of the Vedic pantheon Dyaus Pita. This Indian god is the equivalent of the Roman god, Jupiter and the Greek god, Zeus.
Uranus/Ba’al was depicted as the cruel “Allfather”. The son-husband of Mother Earth. He kept his children trapped in their mother’s womb until his wife made a sickle for her son Cronus to use to cut his siblings out. Uranus fathered the Titans, Giants, and the Cyclops. His genitals falling to the ground created the goddess of love known as Aphrodite in the Greek pantheon. His son, Cronus became the next father-god until he was overthrown by his son Zeus.
Hear the word which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 speaks to you, O house of Yashar’al. Thus said 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄, “Do not learn the way of the nations, and do not be awed by the signs of the heavens, for the nations are awed by them.
Yarmyahu (Jeremiah) 10:1-2
Summer Solstice:
Father’s day is closely related to the summer solstice pagan practices.
The word solstice comes from the Latin word solstitum which means “sun stands still.” It is the longest day of the year and the shortest night in the Northern Hemisphere. It is known by different names throughout the world, in Europe for example, it is called Midsummer. Wiccans and Neopagans refer to it as Litha. And to the Catholic Church, it is St. John’s Day.
Pagans celebrated the summer solstice by sacrificing to the sky fathers (sun gods) and women performed pagan rituals. The festivities lasted a whole week from June 19-25.
Festivities in honor of several gods took place during the summer solstice pagan celebrations.
One such example is the festival in honor of the goddess Juno (wife of Jupiter). Juno was the goddess of women and childbirth. The month of June was named in her honor. She was also the patroness of marriage and the reason why June remains the most popular month for weddings to this day.
The goddess Veta (goddess of the hearth) was also honored during this time. Women would go to her temple for 8 days to perform rituals and offered salted meat asking for blessings upon their homes.
Litha is an ancient pagan celebration that is still practiced today. In honor of the summer solstice and father sky, pagans and Wiccans light up bonfires on hilltops to signify the space between earth and sky. It was and is considered a time to find the balance between fire and water.
In ancient times, Europeans set up large wheels on fire and rolled them down a hill into a body of water.
Bonfires also have pagan symbolism, no I’m not talking about a simple campfire or burning some brush to clean up your property. The word “bonfire” comes from “bone fire” to refer to the ashes and bones left over from animal and human sacrifices.
