The slow days of winter are upon us. The homestead is pretty quiet. The days are short and chilly. We find ourselves looking for activities to be creative, keep our hands busy, and entertain children.
Enter, washi tape. I bought this for some bible edging to put tabs on and had extra. It works really well for children as it is workable enough and not super sticky. We have scrap cardstock from my daughter’s curriculum so we used that to make bookmarks.
It is so fun to see what patterns and color themes everyone comes up with. You could totally decorate bookmarks with stickers, markers, stamps, or whatever you have on hand. Who doesn’t love a cheap to free activity for your children?
These would also be a lovely gift to a friend this winter to brighten their day. Maybe a gift basket of a book, bookmarks, some tea, a favorite snack, and a cozy blanket.
We are enjoying the Jean Craighead George My Side of the Mountain series, Making Brothers & Sisters Best Friends: How to Fight the Good Fight at Home by Sarah Stephen and Grace Mally. I always check Abe Books or Thrift books before buying because nothing is better than second hand.
